Despite the fact that many Burnsville drivers are flocking towards smaller SUVs, sedans are still a perfect option for all kinds of families and individuals making it well worth consideration. The new 2022 Honda Accord continues the success of last year’s model refresh. This year, the Accord hybrid gains a Sport trim for those that want to be both fuel-efficient and performance-minded.
The new Accord is as good as it’s ever been, coming in at a great price, plenty of room and power, along with great fuel efficiency and plenty of convenient features. The 2022 Honda Accord is the perfect all-in-one package for anyone in Minneapolis.
The 2022 Honda Accord is still fresh off a facelift just one year ago. The biggest design change to this ninth-generation Accord happened to its grille. The redesigned grille carries a wider and more prominent look that beautifully integrates into the new LED headlights. The sporty look continues along the side of the car with various bold body creases, making it appear as though the Accord is in motion even when at a standstill. Its fastback-inspired roofline gives it an elegant look that mimics sedans many times its price.
The Accord’s powerful and elegant look will make sure to turn heads while riding through Burnsville streets.
The Honda Accord’s superbly designed interior draws the eyes towards the large 8.0-inch display. The infotainment system is fully capable with Bluetooth and USB connectivity as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration on all trims. Cozy heated seats are not only limited to forward passengers, as available heated rear seats make them perfect to combat the cold Minneapolis winters. The available 10-speaker premium audio system combined with active noise canceling brings a true concert hall experience to your daily drive.
Interior space is abundant in the new Honda Accord. Front and rear passengers can expect 39.5 and 37.3 inches of headroom, respectively. Feel free to stretch your legs as legroom stands at 42.3 and 40.4 inches. Additionally, the Accord comes with a class-leading amount of cargo space with 16.7 cubic feet of available space.
The 2022 Honda Accord has a starting price of $25,470. The regular Accord comes in five different trim levels: LX, Sport, Sport Special Edition, EX-L, and Touring. The Honda Accord Hybrid starts at $26,670. The hybrid version comes in all the same trims except for the Sport Special Edition.

The LX trim of the Honda Accord comes well equipped for the base model. The LX rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and comes with dual-zone automatic climate control. A large 8-inch center touchscreen is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety is also not spared in the LX trim. The Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance features finds its way into this trim level as well. Some of the technologies featured in this collection include Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist.
As the name implies, the Sport trim gives a more sporty look to the Accord as well as some extra convenience features. On the exterior, the wheels are upgraded to 19-inch alloys and a rear spoiler is added. The steering wheel and shift knob gain a leather wrapping and the driver’s seat is now power-adjustable. Additionally, the audio system is upgraded to an eight-speaker set.
Most importantly, the Sport trim is available with the larger 2.0L engine making 252 horsepower that is standard on the Touring. While the smaller 1.5L is still the standard on this trim, it is the only trim where the 2.0L is available as an option. For those looking for a powerful engine without any of the extras in the top-end Touring model, the Sport is a perfect choice.
The Sport Special Edition further builds upon the Sport trim and adds a few more luxuries. The most notable addition is the leather upholstery with an added heating element to the front seats and power adjustment to the front passenger seat.
Other conveniences include both keyless entry as well as a remote ignition that allows the climate control to do its magic before even stepping foot in the Accord.
The EX-L brings a host of technology upgrades to the Accord. Apple Carplay and Android Auto can now be integrated wirelessly and a wireless charging pad is added in this trim. Furthermore, the audio system is once again upgraded to a 10-speaker setup.
A sunroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a universal garage door opener are also added to this trim. Blind-spot monitoring and parking sensors join the rest of the Accord’s safety features for even more peace of mind.
The Touring trim is the only trim where the powerful 252 hp 2.0L engine is standard. Along with the upgraded engine, the Touring also adds rain-sensing wipers and a head-up display to help keep eyes on the road during any spirited driving. The heated seats also gain a ventilation setting in this trim. Lastly, for those that rather not use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, the Touring comes with Honda’s own navigation system.
The 2022 Honda Accord comes with three different powertrain options: two gasoline and one hybrid. Most Accords will be equipped with a turbocharged 1.5L 4-cylinder making 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. For those opting for the upgraded Sport trim or Touring, a more powerful turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder will take its place. This engine can produce 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid features a regular 2.0L 4-cylinder and electric motor. The combined output of this setup is 212 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque.
Regardless of which engine option is chosen, the Honda Accord will provide amazing fuel economy. The city/highway/combined mpg for the 1.5L engine sits at 30/38/33. For the much more powerful performance-oriented 2.0L, the engine is able to provide a competitive 22/32/26. Of course, if fuel economy is a top priority, then nothing will beat the hybrid option. The Accord Hybrid has an astonishingly high fuel economy rating of 48/47/47.
The 2022 Honda Accord is able to ride safely through Burnsville streets thanks to a myriad of improvements and design tweaks. The sedan was able to receive the IIHS’s Top Safety Pick+ award and has also received a five-star overall crash safety rating from the NHTSA. Stopping an accident from happening in the first place is also a top priority. Thankfully, the Accord comes with a host of safety features. Some of these include:
