Two-motor hybrid performance
The Accord Hybrid uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine and two electric motors to produce 204 total system horsepower. Electric-motor torque gives it smooth, immediate response around town, while the gasoline engine supports sustained driving and helps generate electricity.
The battery recharges through normal operation and regenerative braking, so the Accord Hybrid never needs to be connected to a charger.
Drive modes and control
Selectable drive modes adjust the Accord Hybrid's response for efficiency or a more engaging feel. Steering-wheel deceleration selectors let the driver change regenerative-braking intensity when slowing.
