How to Set Up Wireless Android Auto in Your Honda

If you’re an Android user, Wireless Android Auto is one of the most convenient features available in newer Honda vehicles like the Odyssey. Once it’s set up, your phone will automatically connect every time you start the vehicle—no cable required.

Here’s how to set it up in just a few quick steps.

Step-by-Step: How to Connect Wireless Android Auto

  1. Tap “Android Auto” on Your Honda’s Home Screen
On your vehicle’s infotainment display, tap the Android Auto icon to start the pairing process.

  2. Open Settings on Your Android Phone
On your phone, go to the Settings app.

  3. Go to Connections > Bluetooth
In Settings, tap Connections, then choose Bluetooth (usually the third option down). Your phone will start scanning for nearby devices.

  4. Select Your Honda from the List
Look for your specific model name under available devices (e.g. Honda Odyssey). If you don’t see it right away, tap Scan in the top right corner to refresh the list.

  5. Confirm the Pairing Code
A code will appear on both your phone and the infotainment screen. If they match, tap Pair on your phone.

  6. Enable Android Auto & Allow Access
    You’ll be prompted to:

    • Enable Android Auto – tap Yes

    • Allow access to contacts and messages – tap Allow to get full functionality like voice texting and calling

You’re Good to Go!

Once paired, Android Auto will connect automatically every time you get in your Honda. You’ll have easy access to:

  • Google Maps and Waze

  • Spotify, YouTube Music, and other media apps

  • Text messages, calls, and Google Assistant

Tip: For the best performance, make sure your phone has the latest Android OS update and Android Auto app version installed.
